mandala linocut workshop
In this fun and challenging workshop, you will be creating your own unique personal mandala prints using a linocut block.
We will start by looking at examples of mandalas and elements of design. You will then learn how to use basic lino cutting tools safely and familiarize yourselves with the tools by mark making on some practice pieces. After this, comes sketching and refining the design and learning how to transfer this onto a lino block.
After carving the lino block, I will teach you how to roll out ink and make some test prints. When you are happy with the design, you will print the final pieces on good quality paper (or fabric). The mandalas take shape towards the end and the results will delight you!
