“Alison’s artworks never fail to enhance the ambience and elegance of any space, be it home or office. The fine details and right use of colours are simply stunning and captivating. You can use a single frame or a big frame with multiple windows for a few pieces of the same collection. They look good in any space. It is always a pleasure interacting with Alison and learning the context of each creation.

These are also stories that I share with my guests and students at my work place. Alison uses good quality art materials. I know because the condition of her artworks remain pristine even after seven years of display in the uncontrolled environment of my living and dining room. I do not see any brown spots (foxing) on the paper and the colours are as vibrant as the first day I got them.”

“Alison Wilson is known for her intricate and beautiful art. Her works are mostly inspired by the natural environment in the vicinity of her residence in Singapore, and also her reflections upon experiential travels to unspoiled and remote parts of the world. Through keen observations of her surroundings and her art, she draws our attention to subjects often taken for granted, and provokes a sense of gratitude and a desire to reconnect with nature. Examples of these subjects include land and sea animals, and plants.

She uses sophisticated printmaking techniques such as stone lithography, etching and aquatinting, and linocut reduction. At times she pushes boundaries and experiments with combinations of printmaking techniques, and other art techniques, such as direct hand embroidery and drill engraving on the glass of specific frames. If you are starting to collect or growing a collection of good quality artworks, I highly recommend Alison’s.”

“I didn’t know anything about printmaking before attending Alison’s course. I was nervous that I wouldn’t have the artistic capability to produce a decent end product but I was nicely surprised. Alison is such a great teacher and makes you feel very at home in her beautiful black & white apartment. It’s very peaceful and a great environment for getting creative. As I can’t draw, my ‘design’ was two simple flowers, but as I later found out, the simpler the better for some prints! Alison carefully takes you step by step through each stage of making your stamp, whilst being so encouraging. We printed on fabric - you can choose between a napkin or bag.

We created our own bespoke colours, and even did fading colours. I went home with two bags printed with my own flower designs. I felt a huge sense of achievement. It was a wonderful afternoon. Alison is such a kind teacher who encourages you to just go for it!”

“My daughter and I recently did an afternoon printmaking class with Alison. She welcomed us into her beautiful home decorated with her own amazing prints, which were very inspiring.

We spent a few hours learning new print techniques and then experimenting with them to create our own works of art.
